Volume VIII – 1914, Signature to fep of J Craigie Bone – the artist. Bone enlisted in the 9th Royal Scots (The Dandy Ninth). He completed many watercolours in France of war scenes, which were exhibited in Edinburgh in 1916 to “much public attention”. Unfortunately, he was killed in action at Arras on 29th April 1917. Two lecture cards from 1913-1914 with notes in pencil which ironically seem to be plans for a ‘grand tour’ of Europe , presumably by Bone. Spine and edges worn. £40
Volume IX, 1928 Ex Edinburgh Reference library with their labels and withdrawn stamp. A Fair copy with spine mostly gone. £15
