1st edition. Paper hard boards with paper covers, including dustjacket flaps. Paper covering is worn over the boards. Scarce first edition of this work published at the start of the war. Gift inscription to the front dated 1940 (partly in Polish) referring to the Polish ‘invasion’ of scotland (Scotland housed a large Polish community who went on to fight against Hitler). Good copy other than the wear to the wrapper/ covers.
