Description
Illustrated by S.L. Wood. 4 vols. 12mo. Translated by Dr Jonathan Scott – this version was first published first in 1811 and again in 1882, this third edition was issued in 1890 as part of the Aldine editions series – an attempt to produce fine editions of the major classics. The bindings appear modern – red cloth with printed labels. Interestingly the binding and the labels appear to exactly replicate those produced for the original binding so great care has been taken with this. A really nice set. VG+ No marks or inscriptions
