Case presented in the House of Lords. 51pp plus folding genealogical table. In half green leather on green boards – boards detached and worn, contents VG.

Penned to the front endpaper is the inscription “T.G. Murray esq. with the compliments of Wm Fraser” A pencilled note states “Given by Sir William Fraser to Thomas Graham Murray ….(remainder illegible)

Presumed to have been gifted by Sir William Fraser, the notable historian and genealogist, to Thomas Graham Murray of Stenton (1816–1891), LLD, WS

Clan Maxwell remains without a chief to this day and this is an important genealogical document. There appear to be three copies noted – in the National Library of Scotland, York Minster and one at the society of genealogists.
