The author’s notable contribution to crime fiction. This collection of stories is No.58 in Queen’s Quorum.  First edition in the publishers tan cloth with black lettering. Some light water stain  spotting to the rear cover and some very light foxing spots to endpapers, very slight lean, otherwise a VG+ copy. Decorative bookplate of the collector and author Stanley Austin (author of “A  History of Engraving”) to the front pastedown and a gift inscription from Burke to Austin dated January 1926 to the front free endpaper. Scarce.
