Description

Study of the actions of the Duke of Argyll including the Porteous riots of 1736. One of four variants listed in the English Short Title Catalogue. pp60 with the title page being page 1. Pages in order unlike other listings though pagination repeated between the speech and the ‘review’ and this may have been re-collated on rebinding. Modern quarter cloth with paper title to spine . Neat rebind. Internally VG though page edges are dog eared. pages 3-34 comprise the introduction/ review of his ‘conduct, two blank pages (35 and 36) present a postcript and pages numbered 34 (again, actually page 37) to 57 (60) are the speech. VG
