A new edition (this was first published in 1919). There is no indication of revision to justify the ‘new edition’ reference, so II suspect there is no new material but this has just been reset by Faber for republication. Ownership inscriptions to fep (one is of  the crime novelist and critic Jessica Mann under her maiden name – this was purchased from an auction lot of her books).  A few light marks to text and the gold titling is faded, otherwise a VG copy of this ground breaking crime/ suspense novel.
